Former Inspector Andrew Seaman joins IPe

Former Planning Inspector Andrew Seaman BA (Hons) MA MRTPI has joined the IPe team to lead on a number of new work streams.
Andrew latterly served the Planning Inspectorate as Group Manager - Planning (England), carrying responsibility for all Inspectors involved in mainstream Section 78 appeal decision making across England. He has also been the senior lead in the recruitment and training of new Inspectors.
Andrew has extensive experience of examining Local Plans and has been a specialist in heritage issues for the last 10 years. He has further enjoyed supporting the University of the West of England (Bristol) in the practical application of planning skills by their undergraduate students for a number of years.
Prior to being an Inspector, Andrew held a senior management team position within a District Council, where he held responsibility for leading a large team delivering Development Management, Planning Policy, Building Control and Emergency Planning.
IPe Director Chris Snarr said,
'Coming from such a senior role, Andrew's expertise will be central to further developing IPe's services. Initially, Andrew will be taking forward a pilot project around the production of proportionate evidence base requirements for Local Plans as well as a new joint venture to deliver CPD training events.
Andrew's insight will be invaluable in advising local planning authorities on the production of their Local Plans and he will also be applying his examiner skills to Neighbourhood Plans.'
