BA MRTPI. Geoff worked for over 20 years as a planning Inspector for PINS and managed a large team of Inspectors as a Sub Group Leader. He has held examinations into several core strategies for a wide variety of urban and rural areas, District-wide Local Plans, and CILs. He has trained new Inspectors, represented the Inspectorate at a number of training events and carried out several advisory visits to Councils preparing local plans. Geoff's main work area in IPe is delivering local plans support and he has also examined the draft Horsham and Stroud Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedules.
Geoff dealt with a very large number of planning appeals, and called in applications, including those for substantial new residential developments, major retail proposals, town centre and commercial redevelopments and renewable energy schemes.
Prior to joining PINS, Geoff was in a private practice in Milton Keynes. This was preceded by employment in number of local planning authorities in Surrey, Hertfordshire and Greater London, in development management, forward planning and economic development.
