Neighbourhood Planning
Neighbourhood Planning provides a powerful set of tools for local people to ensure that they get the right types of development for their community. Neighbourhood Plans set policies to determine decisions on planning applications.
It gives communities - the relevant parish or neighbourhood forum (known as 'qualifying bodies' ) - direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and deliver the sustainable development they need.
Funding
We recognise communities invest a huge amount of effort in developing their Plans, often with very limited funding available to seek the input of planning professionals.
The Government has allocated over £23m between 2018 - 2022 to support the development of neighbourhood planning and you can apply for grant funding and/or technical support if you are eligibile. Read more on the new Neighbourhood Planning Support website
