Sue Turner

BA BArch MSc MRTPI. Sue trained as an architect at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and worked as an architect in private practice and for local authorities on commercial, education and housing schemes.

Sue was a planning Inspector in PINS for 16 years, initially specialising in listed building appeals but latterly working exclusively on Local Plan and CIL examinations. Her main focus in IPe is on the delivery of local plans support work.

In the 1990's, prior to joining PINS, she commenced a part time MSc in Town and Country Planning at Reading University whilst working in a local authority planning department. As well as routine development control and Plan preparation, she specialised in conservation and design, working on conservation area appraisals and preparing design briefs. She acted as project manager for the Basingstoke Station approach improvement scheme. During the 1980's she worked on house condition surveys for housing associations and local authorities.
